Soap Opera Weekly interview

WEEKLY: Who gives the best advice?
Torkildsen: John McCook [Eric] and Susan Flannery [Stephanie]. They've been here for me since day one. Anything that I've had trouble with, I've gone to them. Even little things like where you put your hands during a scene. When you're talking normally in a conversation, you don't think about it. But in front of a camera, you think about what you're going to do with your hands. They've helped me get comfortable on the stage. And they've helped me grow up in life, too. I've learned a lot from both of them.

WEEKLY: Who do you run lines with?
Torkildsen: Our scene group always gets together to run lines before work. We call [our process], "Three time's a charm." We run through the scene three times and most of the time we all know by then.

WEEKLY: Who do you have lunch with?
Torkildsen: I go to lunch with John a lot. Actually I go with John, Winsor [Harmon, Thorne] and Ronn [Moss, Ridge]. There's a new place called The Grove over at the Farmer's Market, and it has all these fancy new restaurants. So we go over there. I also go to lunch with Adrienne [Frantz, Amber]. That's about it. You usually go to lunch with people you directly work with because you're up during the same item, so it times out right.

WEEKLY: Who knows all the dirt on the set?
Torkildsen: Everybody. [laughs] Everybody knows everything that goes on here. If something gets out, it goes around, so you better be careful what you say.

WEEKLY: Who's performance always makes your jaw drop?
Torkildsen: Susan Flannery's performances. Always. She just taped the most amazing scenes. She's a great actress.

WEEKLY: Who would you like to get to know better?
Torkildsen: We all pretty much know each other really well. Our thing here at B&B is that when someone new comes on the show, we spend time getting to know them and welcome them to the set. It's nice.

WEEKLY: Who has the best dressing room?
Torkildsen: John McCook. It's right by the makeup room. It's big and it's kind of a community room. It's great.

WEEKLY: Who has the worst dressing room?
Torkildsen: I think mine's pretty bad in the general disorganization and messiness involved with it.

WEEKLY: Who would you hang out with on a Saturday night?
Torkildsen: We all hang out. Last week Rick Hearst [Whip] got together a big party to go up to Senoritas on Sunset. Most of the cast was there short of a few people. Even Susan Flannery stopped by. We're like a big family.
